About this work
A small (SM) work gathering karasu-uri (Japanese snake gourd), bush clover, and kudzu that ripen in the autumn fields. On kumohada hemp paper in mineral pigments and glue, the grain of the mineral colors depicts the reddening fruit of the snake gourd, the bush clover spilling into bloom, and the vining leaves of the kudzu within clear autumn light. A work in which Saotome Kaori, who studied the conservation of cultural properties at the Tokyo University of the Arts graduate school, scoops up the turn of the season dwelling even in roadside grasses.
