About this work
Two blossoms rendered on silk through wax-resist dyeing. The contrast between wax-protected areas and dye-saturated sections creates delicate gradations within the petals. Acid dyes interact with the silk's natural luster, producing subdued yet luminous color. Two blossoms rendered in rōzome on silk face each other within soft gradations of acid dye that seem to emanate from the fabric itself. Built through repeated cycles of hot-wax resist and dyeing, each color layer is fixed inside the fiber rather than on its surface, giving the cloth an intrinsic luminosity. At a modest 140 × 180 mm, the paired forms quietly evoke themes of symmetry, transience, and the cyclical return to nature central to the artist's wider practice.
