About this work
Layers of acid dye, fixed into silk through successive rounds of wax-resist and immersion, settle into a hushed field of muted tones that evoke rain-laden mist. The dye's penetration into the fiber produces soft bleeds and gradations, holding the formless drift of haze within the weave itself. Controlled resist work structures depth and atmosphere, while the inherent unpredictability of dye moving through water allows the image to retain the quiet contingency of an actual weather phenomenon.
