Byakko (White Tiger)

About this work

A white tiger emerges from layered washes of acrylic and sumi ink on panel, its pale fur rendered through controlled bleeds and deliberate brushwork. The interplay between precise detail in the animal's gaze and the soft diffusion of pigment at the edges creates a tension between presence and dissolution. Rooted in a practice that seeks to capture what the artist calls the 'blurring of life,' the work channels the quiet intensity of a mythic beast through material fluidity and restrained composition.
