About this work
An animal form emerges quietly from layered mixed-media surfaces on panel, its contours distilled rather than observed. Instead of naturalistic depiction, the work extracts the creature's essential structure through a personal filter, rebuilding it with varied textures and tonal depth. The resulting image holds an interior stillness that establishes a measured distance between subject and viewer—neither too close nor too remote—inviting an unspoken exchange that resonates beyond the painted surface.
