Rendered in mixed media on panel, a nautilus emerges with its spiraling shell distilled into essential form. Rather than faithfully replicating the creature's appearance, the work extracts the organism's distinctive contour through a personal filter, drawing out an interior presence. The nautilus—an ancient marine form virtually unchanged over millennia—becomes a vessel onto which viewers project their own associations, held at what the artist describes as a gentle, neither too close nor too distant, threshold for dialogue.
