Layered mineral pigments on washi build a subdued, tactile surface from which the presence of an aged male creature quietly emerges. The gaze—rendered in the artist's characteristic 'neutral eye,' a restrained pairing of black over white—withholds overt emotion, instead channeling the gravity of a life long endured. Repeated cycles of scraping and reapplying pigment leave traces beneath the finished surface, evoking the accumulated weight of time and survival.
