Pufferfish

About this work

A pufferfish rendered in mixed media on panel, its rounded form distilled into an intimate composition measuring just 22.7 by 15.8 centimeters. Rather than naturalistic observation, the work extracts the creature's essential silhouette, allowing an understated presence—part comic, part contemplative—to surface. The approach reflects a sustained inquiry into depicting animals as vessels for projection and quiet dialogue, maintaining what the artist describes as a gentle distance between subject and viewer.
