About this work
A compact lidded vessel formed from pure silver and copper, finished in cloisonné with transparent glaze. Fine silver wires delineating a chrysanthemum pattern are intentionally left unpolished, rising slightly above the enamel surface to cast delicate shadows as light shifts. The translucent glaze allows the metallic ground to show through, lending depth beneath the glassy sheen. Raised metalwork, soldering, wire placement, and multiple firings at around 800°C are executed by a single hand, ensuring precise alignment between lid and body.
