Twilight

About this work

Built on a gesso ground with successive layers of transparent oil pigment, the work captures the fleeting tonal shift of twilight as sky and water merge into a single, quiet expanse. The horizontal format gently extends the viewer's gaze, evoking the transient color changes that compress into the brief moments around sunset. Rooted in everyday scenery rather than celebrated vistas, the composition leaves space for the viewer's imagination—an approach the artist likens to the economy of haiku.
