Acrylic and oil paint on cotton canvas mounted on panel. Part of the MEISAI series, the title evokes camouflage patterns. Multiple paint layers build upon the compact vertical surface, creating a quiet tension within the confined format. Layers of acrylic and oil paint accumulate on cotton-covered panel, merging a human figure into surrounding fields of colour. The working process—building up, disrupting with opaque paint to invite chance, then reconstructing—produces a surface where hard acrylic textures and viscous oil passages coexist, asserting the painting's material presence. The deliberately ambiguous expression of the figure leaves unresolved the tension between unease at being absorbed into one's surroundings and the comfort that same absorption can provide, placing the judgment squarely with the viewer.
