About this work

A figure emerges faintly within dense layers of color, its contours dissolving into the surrounding field. Built on cotton canvas over panel, the surface bears the physical evidence of repeated cycles—acrylic ground, deliberate disruption, and reconstruction in oil—producing varied textures from raised impasto to controlled smoothness. The ambiguous presence of the figure, neither fully absorbed nor clearly distinct, gives visual form to the tension between the comfort of blending in and the unease of disappearing.
