Rendered on a compact cotton-mounted panel, clusters of mimosa blossoms form layered passages of warm yellow against a restrained ground. Opaque pigment built up in successive stages and sealed with transparent glazes lends each tiny floret a sense of volume and interior light. Though the artist is primarily known for his cat and female figure paintings, this work demonstrates the same disciplined approach to spatial organization and tonal depth—allowing the structural character of the subject to emerge through careful observation rather than decorative embellishment.
