STATEMENT

On resolving the question of what it is to be — a question that lasts a lifetime — I think from various viewpoints and express what I find. That must never be mere knowledge; it has to be carried out through pure experience itself. I turn that experience into a question, imagine, doubt, deny and rebuild. In other words my expression is not made of empty knowledge but stands on a dense unknown. As the means of that expression I use pencil above all. I believe this drawing material, the closest to hand for me, reduces as far as possible the gap between thought and output.
