STATEMENT

The precariousness and fragility of blood vessels seen through the thin veil of the skin; and on the other hand the warmth those vessels produce. How far can human beings, who always hold opposed things within them, share one another? Taking the human body strictly as my motif, I go on painting human activity, fetishism, relation and distance. The sleeping face of an infant is a motif I have painted consistently since 2008, because I think it is one that people all over the world can find lovely alike, across background and values. A peaceful sleeping face is socially positive; there is no negative element in it. My works of infants show that even among us, with our differences of culture and of much else, there are thoughts and sensations that can be shared.
