STATEMENT
Ayumu Matsuoka takes animals as his subject and continues to show at the Inten exhibition. For him, making work is the expression of the memory of feeling that arises from experience, and of the thoughts that come from the surroundings of that experience. The moment when a feeling once put away is released, he says, is where the work begins. The works he makes are the many remembered scenes a painter has lived through. What feelings will arise from here on? He spends his days in expectation of that instant, and we invite you to see the works as they come.
